All gear (rods, reels, waders, flies) provided for all trips. Lunch is provided on full day trips.

We want to make sure you have the best experience possible. Our guides are well versed in fishing the Tellico River under a variety of conditions and with a variety of tactics and techniques. Clinics:

Recommended Skill Level: Intermediate

The mountains of East Tennessee provide a multitude of small stream opportunities for wild trout and native brook trout. These streams are often remote, largely untouched and require a special set of tactics to approach successfully. Our small stream clinic is designed to provide you with the necessary skill set to enjoy these backcountry beauties on your own.

Some of the topics covered include:

  • Gear, fly selection and rigging.

  • Approaching and fishing small water.

  • Properly landing and handling trout.

  • Close quarters casting (Steeple cast, roll cast, bow & arrow, etc.)

  • Map reading and trip planning.

  • Entomology

Euro Nymphiing: (5 hrs) $175/person (limited availability), Call for details on clinic dates and times.

Recommended Skill Level: All skill levels

Euro nymphing is a very effective style of nymphing which has increased in popularity over the last decade. This technique, which is often referred to locally as tight-lining, is highly suited for our swift mountain streams and is one of the most consistently productive tactics for trout year round. Our euro nymphing clinic will cover the basics of what separates this technique from other forms of nymphing and the best gear, tackle and fly selection for this specialized style of fishing.

Some of the topics covered include:

  • Gear, fly selection, rigging and leader building

  • Fishing nymph, dry flies and streamers with tight-line techniques

  • Reading water

  • How to achieve a proper drift in a variety of water types (pocket water, runs, pools)

  • Entomolgy
